Company Nokia Siemens Networks and Motorola announced an agreement whereby Nokia Siemens Networks will acquire the bulk of the assets of Motorola, related to the production of wireless equipment for 1.2 billion U.S. dollars in cash. Companies are going to close the deal before the end of this year with all the conditions for such cases, including approval by regulatory agencies.
As noted in a statement the deal:
Significantly enhance the presence of Nokia Siemens Networks all over the world, especially in the United States and Japan.
Nokia Siemens Networks will let you concentrate on strengthening existing relationships with more than 50 operators and strengthen relations with the rest.
Strengthen the position of Nokia Siemens Networks in the key wireless technologies, and give out the company’s global market for CDMA.
Allows you to keep your Motorola iDEN business, and virtually all patents related to selling the business and certain other assets.
